The Global Legal Post, in association with TerraLex, has published new research into what in-house lawyers are looking for from law firms.
The findings of the research show that the efforts of law firms to understand business needs and communicate better with clients has been noticed by GCs. However, clients still want more in the way of fee deals and an increased use of technology to deliver legal services.
New legal market entrants, as well as new services and pricing by existing 'traditional' law firms, have already caused massive changes in how law firms deliver their services. It is likely with competition rife in the legal sector this will continue until in-house lawyers get exactly what they want.
Law firms were making more effort to understand business needs and communicate better with their clients but private practice is still falling down on a wide range of areas, according to this year's GC Excellence report.
